How can we help?
Frequently asked questions
How do I save a bundle?
Sign in and select the heart beside Details. Open Favorites to find your saved bundles. Select the heart again to remove one. Your collection is private and holds up to 200 bundles.
Can I bring my own files?
Open My bases and sign in. Create a private base and upload one Markdown or TXT file in UTF-8 at a time. The free limit is 3 bases, 20 documents per base and 256 KiB per text file. Search, read or download Markdown and OKF. Upload does not publish your content. The service also converts PDF, DOCX and DOC up to 8 MiB. Check the quote before you authorize. PDF accepts 200 pages and includes automated visual review. DOC and DOCX preserve native text, headings and tables without visual review or Word pagination.
How do I share my base?
Select Publish base. Enter the author, optional source URL and terms of use. Confirm that you have the right to publish the files. Visitors can find the base by name or author, search its documents and download OKF without an account. New uploads stay private until you publish again. Make private removes public access and discovery. Your files remain in My bases. Copies already downloaded cannot be recalled.
How do I update or remove a file?
Open the file and select Replace file. Review the new file in the reader, then apply the replacement. The links stay the same. Private search uses the new text; visitors keep the last published version until you select Update publication. Remove file deletes the document from the base, search, exports and public access. Copies already downloaded cannot be recalled.
Can I search concepts and read the original OKF file?
Search up to 1,000 indexed characters from the root index, including concept names and summaries. Filters cover concept count, root type, OKF version, repository language and license. Individual concept files and their tags are not indexed. Select a concept to read it inside the bundle tab. GitHub folders list their Markdown and text files. Files load from the publisher when opened, up to 256 KiB. RAW reads the original index.md with its metadata. If the source blocks browser access, retry or open the source link. OKF Index and Meta Agent Tools use the same reader.
What is an OKF bundle?
Open Knowledge Format (OKF) organizes knowledge in Markdown files. Each file has YAML metadata at the start, called frontmatter. Links connect the files so an agent can read the concepts it needs. This index lists bundles whose root file was read and declares okf_version. Google publishes the specification. OKF Index is an independent index, not the official OKF registry. It has no affiliation with Google.
What does a bundle card tell me?
A card shows the declared OKF version, root type, listed concepts and the original link. These details come from the publisher. Check the source and its license before reuse.
How do I get my bundle indexed?
Open Submit a bundle. Publish a key file on a domain you control. Enter the domain, key and index URLs, then submit. A 202 response means the URLs are queued for review; it does not confirm publication. The collector checks the key before reading your files. Agents can send the same fields to POST /api/ping.
My bundle changed. How does the index find out?
Submit the same index URL again. It returns to the queue so the collector can read the new version. Check the response before retrying.
How do base limits work?
My bases shows your current usage and account limits. Creating a fourth base opens a BRL 5/month subscription for 10 additional bases, or 13 total. Monthly card subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel in Account → Subscriptions to stop future charges. Paid access continues until the period ends. After expiry, extra bases keep read, download, removal and make-private access. Files are not automatically deleted.
Can a base update itself?
Select Connect source and enter a public HTTPS URL that serves Markdown or plain text in UTF-8. An active capacity subscription includes one source per base, checked hourly, up to 256 KiB. Changes update private search; publication stays explicit. The base shows the last check and any failure or delay. Disconnect keeps the last file and source URL. Checks pause when paid access ends. Use only content you have the right to store and publish.
Can I search several bases together?
Open Collections and create a collection. Add your own bases or paste a public base link from OKF Index. Each result identifies its source base. You can keep up to 10 collections with 20 bases each. Collections start private. Publish collection shares only public references; later additions stay private until you update publication. A base that becomes private disappears from public reads. Removing a reference or collection does not delete the original files.
Can I share knowledge with my team?
Open your base or collection, select Share with team and choose an organization with OKFIndex enabled. Members open Teams to read, search and download. Only you can edit. Sharing includes current and future files in your bases. Other owners' bases in a collection expose published files only. Stop sharing removes that grant; revoke a member in Account to end their team access. Public links and copies already downloaded are unaffected.
How do I follow changes to a base?
Open a hosted public base and select Follow. Open Following to read documents published after you followed. Each document shows its latest published version and date. Publishing the same version again creates no new notice. You can follow up to 50 bases. Unfollow removes the base and its notices. Private bases and removed files disappear from the feed. Following gives no private access and sends no email or push messages.
Can I put my base's search on my site?
Publish your base, then select Copy embed code. Paste the iframe into your site's HTML. It includes search, the document reader, author attribution and a link to create a base. It requires no visitor account and uses the same public API limits: 3–160 search characters and at most 20 results per page. Making the base private blocks the embedded page and new reads. The iframe is for HTTPS sites or local previews. Use /pt/b/:base_id?embed=1 for Portuguese.
Can I see how people and agents use my base?
Open your base to see searches, searches with no results and document reads for the last 30 days. Counts update every 10 minutes. The report counts requests to the base's private and public APIs, including embedded search and agents. It does not identify visitors or store query text. Pagination, downloads and collection searches are excluded. Only the owner can read the report.
What does it cost?
Public search and submission are free. A personal account includes 3 bases. BRL 5/month adds 10 bases and connected-source maintenance. PDF conversion costs USD 0.01 per page; DOC and DOCX cost USD 0.01 per file. Questions with sources cost USD 0.01 per generation. Check the price and authorize before spending prepaid credit.
Can I use it from an agent?
Yes. Start at /developers or /api/. OpenAPI describes the routes at /openapi.json. The guide is at /llms.txt. Model Context Protocol (MCP) exposes search, bundle details, statistics and submission as tools.
Can I ask questions about my base?
Open your base and select Ask with sources. Each new generation costs USD 0.01 in prepaid credit. The question and up to five selected excerpts go to Anthropic. The answer links to the document and identifies its version. Check the cited text. If no document matches, no generation starts and there is no charge. Generation can also report insufficient evidence. Repeating the same question on the same selected source versions reuses the saved result without another charge. Answers remain private to you.
Can I publish a dataset?
Create a base and select Describe a dataset. Fill in its description, fields, coverage, format, update schedule, declared license and HTTPS source. Save the draft, then publish the base after confirming your rights. Visitors can search the metadata and open the origin. Only the description is stored; data is not imported and the declared schedule is not monitored. Edit the draft and update publication to share changes. Make private removes discovery and public access. A dataset uses one base and one file. The first 3 bases are free; the existing BRL 5/month subscription adds 10 bases.
Which Brazilian laws can I read?
Open Legislation to search federal laws and the Constitution. The initial collection comes from ctresb/leis. The worker collects new laws and revisits existing laws through the official Senate and Normas.leg.br APIs. Each document identifies its source and collection date. Search by number/year, LGPD, CDC or words. Filter by type, year and issuing body. A missing issuing body is marked as not stated by the source. Long laws have numbered parts and a complete Markdown download. State and municipal laws are outside this collection. Legal currency is not verified. Download an OKF part for your base, or connect its URL through the existing connected-source feature.
Can I sponsor, advertise or partner?
Yes. See the ad spaces and suggested prices for 30 days at /partners. Use the form to send your proposal. We reply within 3 business days.
